Bulut: Moore was a player I wanted

Cardiff boss Erol Bulut admitted that Bournemouth striker Kieffer Moore was indeed on his shopping list in the summer.

The Bluebirds were looking for another striker right up until the final day of the window, with WalesOnline understanding that Moore was very much on the radar. However, a deal did not materialise and the Wales striker has seen his game time on the south coast diminish greatly.

Bulut was a guest on Turkish channel TRT Spor ahead of Turkey’s game with Wales at Cardiff City Stadium last night and spoke glowingly about Moore, a player he “greatly admired”.

“Kieffer Moore was a player I wanted to buy or loan at the start of the season and greatly admired,” Bulut said. “We need to pay special attention to the crosses today. He’s tall and has very good feet.”

Cardiff are still in need of a striker in January, with Yakou Meite, Kion Etete and Ike Ugbo currently all slugging it out for that starting spot. But Premier League striker Moore, who scored 20 goals in his last full season with the Bluebirds, could seek a loan move away from the Cherries in the new year, having played just five Premier League games this season, all of which have come as a substitute.
