Orioles Sign Former Royals Reliever to One-Year Contract

The Baltimore Orioles have a new potential piece for their bullpen in Tucker Davidson.
The Baltimore Orioles have signed pitcher Tucker Davidson for the 2024 season, the team announced on Friday.

It is a one-year contract. The terms were not disclosed. Davidson is a pre-arbitration player. Last season he made $740,000, which was the minimum MLB salary.

Davidson gives the Orioles depth in their pitching staff, though he is out of options, so he will have to remain on the club or else expose him to waivers.

The Royals traded for Davidson at the deadline in August, handing over cash to the Angels. The Royals waived him a few weeks ago and the Orioles picked him up.

Davidson has a career 3-10 record with a 5.98 ERA.

Davidson was drafted by Atlanta in the 19th round of the 2016 MLB Draft out of Midland College in Midland, Texas. For his minor-league career he is 25-33 with a 3.06 ERA in 110 games, which includes 81 starts.
