Update: Pittsburgh’s next opponent, the Steelers, is hobbling in.

First Call: Steelers’ next opponent limping into Pittsburgh; Myles Garrett injured; ex-Steeler closes Ravens’ win

Monday’s “First Call” takes a look at the Pittsburgh Steelers’ opponent next week. We also check in on injuries to two key Cleveland Browns and an important Cincinnati Bengal.

Then we see how a former Steeler helped close out a win for the Ravens in Los Angeles.

Bird’s eye view

The next opponent for the Pittsburgh Steelers is the Arizona Cardinals. They are coming to Acrisure Stadium for a 1 p.m. start Sunday. The Cards will arrive with a 2-10 record after a 37-14 home loss to the Los Angeles Rams.

Only the Carolina Panthers have a worse record.

Arizona yielded 228 yards rushing Sunday, 143 to the Rams’ Kyren Williams who also caught two touchdown passes and accounted for 61 yards receiving.

Arizona is 26th in rush defense. That’s good for the Steelers, seeing as how they have averaged 174 yards rushing over the last four games.

As for former Steeler and Pitt Panther James Conner, he came back from an ankle injury three weeks ago and is now up to 526 rushing yards on the season, averaging 5.1 yards per carry.

ESPN Bet has the Steelers as a 5.5-point favorite.

Banged-up Bengal

Not only did the Cincinnati Bengals lose to the Steelers on Sunday, but they also lost one of their better players due to injury.

Logan Wilson left the game late in the fourth quarter with an apparent ankle injury.

Wilson was involved in a tackle of Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth with less than four minutes to go. He got his leg trapped underneath himself, sending him to the blue medical tent.

After the game, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor confirmed that Wilson suffered an ankle injury but didn’t elaborate.

The Bengals next play on “Monday Night Football” on Dec. 4 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Meanwhile, Taylor also confirmed that Joe Burrow’s season-ending surgery is Monday.

Down go the Browns

After beating the Steelers last week, the Cleveland Browns ran into a hot team and lost.

The Denver Broncos beat Cleveland in the Rocky Mountains 29-12. It’s Denver’s fifth straight win. They are now 6-5, and the Browns fell to 7-4. Russell Wilson had one touchdown pass to Adam Trautman.

Not only that, but the Browns also lost starting quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson and star defensive lineman Myles Garrett to injuries.

Garrett was seen in a sling after the game. He also claimed to have felt “something pop” in his left shoulder.

Meanwhile, Thompson-Robinson left the game in the second half after suffering a concussion. P.J. Walker finished the game, going 6 for 13 for 56 yards. He absorbed four sacks.

Maulet makes his mark

The Baltimore Ravens are still atop the AFC North — and the entire AFC — after their latest victory. They beat the Los Angeles Chargers on “Sunday Night Football” 20-10.

And the guy who essentially iced it for the Ravens? Former Steeler Arthur Maulet. His pressure of Justin Herbert forced a turnover on downs late in the game.
