The good news for the team is that with the transfer portal landscape, getting new players in is easier than ever. The program is already being linked to Maalik Murphy from Texas.

Day was recruited by the Buckeyes out of high school. Ultimately he decided to go to Texas but the quarterback room is getting crowded there. Quinn Ewers is waffling on going to the NFL and may stay at school. Arch Manning is also waiting in the wings. This could make Murphy the odd man out. Fans are already clamoring for Day to try and bring Murphy in as Kyle McCord showed some promise but hasn’t looked like a top-tier quarterback.
