Green Bay Packers: Wide Receiver Reinstated By NFL Surfaces As Reliable Option (Report)

The Green Bay Packers are 2-5 and desperately looking for a win as they prepare for their Week Nine matchup vs. the Los Angeles Rams.  After starting the season 2-1, the Packers seemed to be optimistic about the offense’s ability to score points and move the ball.  They were just one fourth-quarter collapse (against the Atlanta Falcons) away from starting 3-0.

However, in the weeks since that start the Packers have lost four straight and their ability to score first-half points has seemingly come to a complete halt.  If adding another weapon could not only help the offense, but help Jordan Love’s growth, would they consider it?  One just became available.

The Green Bay Packers Could Sign Newly Reinstated Wide Receiver Martavis Bryant Immediately

Despite not playing in an NFL game since 2018, Martavis Bryant Is looking forward to return to the field even as early as this season. According to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, the veteran has been reinstated. Several teams are interested in Bryant, per his agent James Peterson. The teams interested were not released.

Tom Pelissero posted a video compilation of the training he has been doing in an attempt to get back into the league:

His last experience with the NFL was with the Oakland Raiders in 2018. He played in eight games during his last NFL season, starting two. He ended with 19 receptions for 266 yards, no touchdowns, and three rushing attempts for 23 yards.

He was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the fourth round of the 2014 draft as the 118th overall pick. Bryant played there until 2017 and was suspended for the entire 2016 season for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.

Fans and coaches alike have pounded the table all season long that they look forward to this young offense growing together for years to come.  Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, Dontayvion Wicks, Luke Musgrave, and Tucker Kraft are all 24 years or younger.

Allowing that group to grow with Jordan Love has figured to create a lethal offense down the road.  However, when the offense seemingly can’t move the ball with their current personnel, would brining in a veteran help in more ways than one?

Love needs to build confidence and prove he can play the position well enough to earn another contract.  Bringing in a weapon that could help with that could bode well for everyone involved.
