WHAT HAPPENED?

Manchester United legend Mark Hughes has been relieved of his duties at Valley Parade, while Neil Harris is no longer calling the shots at Priestfield. Both bosses have paid the price for failing to live up to pre-season expectations.

Gillingham are two points better off than Wrexham – sitting just outside the fourth tier play-off places in eighth – but have taken just one point from their last three games. The Gills claim that they are looking to move in a “different direction” – leaving Harris out of a job after 20 months in their dugout.

Hughes, meanwhile, has been ushered out of the exits at Bradford after seeing the Bantams slip to 18th in the League Two standings. They have won just three of their 11 games this season, despite making the play-offs last season and being tipped by many to complete with the likes of Wrexham for promotion into League One in 2023-24.
