Japanese pitching phenom predicted by MLB observers to join Shohei with the Dodgers
Giants Predicted To Steal Top Dodgers Free Agent Target This Winter
Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Willy Adames is now an unrestricted free agent and many experts expect him to leave Milwaukee this winter. The top team that’s been connected to Adames has been the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Dodgers need a shortstop, and they have the money to bring him in. Adames would be the perfect addition to Los Angeles’ lineup, but more big-market teams are being linked to him. In fact, the Dodgers could lose out on Adames to one of their National League West rivals. Bleacher Report’s Tim Kelly recently predicted that Adames would sign with the San Francisco Giants
instead of the Dodgers, projecting a seven-year, $180 million contract for the star shortstop.
“Buster Posey-the new president of baseball operations in San Francisco-said at the GM meetings in San Antonio last week that he wants to figure out the shortstop position,” Kelly wrote. “Adames could sign to be the shortstop in San Francisco, while also adding much-needed thump to manager Bob Melvin’s lineup.” With Buster Posey as the new president of baseball operations, the Giants are a complete wild card this offseason. Nobody knows how aggressive the Giants will be, though Posey
has spoken to their eagerness to upgrade. Given the fact that Posey had a lot of success as a player, it’s easy to assume that he’s eager to bring that same success back to San Francisco
With this in mind, the prediction that the Giants could outbid the Dodgers to land Adames isn’t outlandish.
