Raiders Rookie Jackson Powers-Johnson Makes Major Personal Announcement
The Las Vegas Raiders may not have had a game this past weekend, but rookie offensive lineman Jackson Powers-Johnson still had himself quite the weekend. On top of popping by Eugene, Oregon, to see his alma mater, the No. 1 Oregon Ducks throttle the Maryland Terrapins to advance to 10-0 for the third time in program history, he also had a momentous occasion himself.
The 2023 Rimington Trophy award winner revealed via an Instagram post that he and his girlfriend, Kimmi Hance, had gotten engaged. Powers-Johnson posted the moment with the caption reading, “Future Powers-Johnson’s….” View the original article to see embedded media. The comment section was flooded with support from his Las Vegas Raiders and Oregon Ducks teammates, with notable names like Maxx Crosby, Andre James and Terrance Ferguson all offering him kind messages after the big news.
Certainly hard to imagine a better way to spend the bye, and also may take some pressure off Powers-Johnson, considering how nerve-racking planning an engagement can be. He and the Raiders (2-7) will hit the road for their Week 11 game, as they’ll be heading to Florida to take on the Miami Dolphins (2-6).

Raiders Star Maxx Crosby Slapped With $11K Fine By NFL
Although the Las Vegas Raiders are on their bye week, they’re finding ways to remain in the news. One of those was a fine that was recently handed down to the Raiders’ star defender, Maxx Crosby. While Crosby’s incident occured back on Sunday of Week 9, the league oftentimes can take a while to hand down the fines. Typically, fines for the previous week are sent out on the next Saturday. This Saturday, the NFL ended up finding Crosby for a late hit.
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported the fine, and included a video of the incident as well.
Here, Crosby is fined over $11,000 for this late hit on Joe Burrow. Burrow was hit after the play had already been whistled dead, which would have been a penalty on it’s own. However, Crosby also made helmet-to-helmet contact on Burrow, which is another offense on it’s own. That contact is probably the reason for the total price of the fine. However, while dangerous, it didn’t seem intentional. The play was whistled dead because Crosby was flagged for an offsides penalty. He didn’t seem to hear the whistle, and in the video, you can see Crosby begin to let up at the end as well.
