The Las Vegas Raiders will have their first game this weekend with their new offensive coordinator, Scott Turner. Turner is serving as the interim coordinator after Luke Getsy was fired by the team going into the bye week. He told the media about his plans, and Raiders fans were skeptical. Turner told the media that the offense will be tweaked, and players must believe in the play calls going forward.
These comments made fans skeptical because of the team’s current record. The Raiders are sitting at a 2-7 record and currently holding a top-five draft pick. With the offensive struggles, it is clear that Las Vegas has a big need to draft a good quarterback for next season, and if things change for the better under Turner, that can affect who they pick up. “Don’t tweak anything where we win 3-4 more games. Just please don’t screw up the draft positioning anymore,” said one fan.
“Not too many tweaks, please. We don’t wanna be stuck with Joe Flacco next year. Let’s not win meaningless games,” added another. “God help us had he said he wasn’t tweaking the offense,” chimed in another. Las Vegas has been predicted to draft Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders in 2025, so it would serve more in their favor to not try and win games when their playoff chances are slim. With Gardner Minshew and Aidan O’Connell as the team’s top options at quarterback right now, drafting a quarterback should be at the top of the list of priorities for the Raiders.
