League One ace makes ‘obscene’ Wrexham transfer claim, predicts ‘massive’ January window
Wrexham backed up Saturday’s win over Exeter City by beating Lincoln City on Tuesday night, remaining in second place in the League One table.
Wrexham have become a nightmare trip for any League One side.
The STōK Cae Ras is an absolute fortress with Wrexham dropping just two points at home so far this season.
Lincoln City became the latest victims as Tendayi Darikwa’s own goal handed Wrexham all three points in a 1-0 home win on Tuesday night.
That is two home wins in a matter of days for Wrexham, bouncing back well from the defeat to Stockport County.
Lincoln boss Michael Skubala felt that his side deserved more but Wrexham won’t care; it’s another three points in the bag.
League One on ‘obscene’ Wrexham spending
Wrexham sit second in the League One table, one point ahead of big-spending Birmingham City but having played two games more.
Steve Bruce is backing Birmingham to win the title but Wrexham will be right in the mix if results from the first 17 games are anything to go by.
Neither Birmingham or Wrexham – arguably the two League One sides with the most attention – are top of the table though.
Wycombe Wanderers sit top of the League One table with 38 points – and their only defeats have come against Wrexham and Birmingham.
The Chairboys are going strong right now and defender Jack Grimmer has offered thoughts on Wrexham’s potential January spending.
As quoted by The Express, Grimmer has suggested that he thinks Birmingham and Wrexham are still favourites to win promotion.
Grimmer is pleased with Wycombe’s start but ultimately believes the January transfer window will be ‘massive’.
Grimmer thinks that Birmingham and Wrexham will be able to spend ‘obscene’ amounts of money on new signings and push towards the Championship.
“We have started well, but we’re under no illusion that there are still 30-plus games left of the season. Especially this season, with the teams that we’re competing against, I feel like January will be massive,” said Grimmer.
“We all know that those teams have the ability to go and spend an obscene amount of money in the January transfer window. I definitely do think that Birmingham and Wrexham are still favourites to go up.
“We’ll quietly go about our business and just keep taking it one game at a time. If we can keep churning out the results and scoring goals, then I’m sure we’ll be up there.
