Ipswich lineup vs. Nottingham Forest: Predicted XI for Premier League clash
Ipswich Town‘s on-loan Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips remains an injury doubt for Saturday’s Premier League scrap with Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.
The England international was eligible to return from suspension in last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United, but he had to sit out the visit of Ruben Amorim‘s men with a “little issue”.
Phillips is one of four players on Kieran McKenna‘s touch-and-go list, which also includes Jacob Greaves (thigh), Nathan Broadhead (groin) and Ben Johnson, who was an unexpected absentee from the squad last weekend.
Janoi Donacien (ankle), Chiedozie Ogbene (Achilles) and George Hirst (knee) make up a trio of definite absentees for Ipswich, who are aiming to stretch their unbeaten top-flight run to four matches in Nottingham.
McKenna is therefore unlikely to consider sweeping changes, and Johnson missing out again would allow Wes Burns to reprise his role in attack alongside Omari Hutchinson, Sammie Szmodics and Liam Delap.
Even if Phillips is given the all-clear, he might have to make do with a spot among the substitutes, as Sam Morsy and Jens Cajuste both earned their keep in the draw with Man United as the double pivot.
The defensive shield of Arijanet Muric, Leif Davis, Axel Tuanzebe, Dara O’Shea and Cameron Burgess should also remain untouched, although the latter’s place may come under a bit of threat if Greaves is fit to return.
Ipswich Town possible starting lineup:
Muric; Tuanzebe, O’Shea, Burgess, Davis; Cajuste, Morsy; Burns, Hutchinson, Szmodics; Delap

Comedian Ricky Gervais has poked fun at Roy Keane in a humorous social media post referencing the pundit’s angry confrontation with an Ipswich fan at Portman Road.
The former Manchester United captain furiously hit back at a supporter who was abusing him and told the fan to continue their clash in the ‘car park’ moments after United’s 1-1 draw with the Tractor Boys at Portman Road on Sunday.
Keane, along with fellow Sky Sports pundits Jamie Redknapp and Izzy Christiansen, were receiving final instructions from producers to come back out following an ad-break before the Irishman set off to confront one particular fan, who had stayed behind to goad him.
In a video exclusively filmed by Mail Sport, the 53-year-old, who managed Ipswich between 2009 and 2011, could be seen putting down his microphone, placing his hands in his pockets and walking over to confront the fan directly before a heated back-and-forth ensued.
A subsequent video shared to social media after the match showed Keane continually telling the fan to ‘wait and discuss it in the car park’ as abusive words were hurled in his direction.
