Johnson is suspended – after the slashing in the rival meeting
Johnson is suspended for two games, which means he misses AIK’s home games against Rögle BK and Modo.
“The film sequence supports the information in the report. The board finds that it has been established that Andreas Johnson was guilty of slashing. The offense should lead to a suspension. The length of the suspension is determined for a time that is deemed to correspond to two matches,” writes DN in the verdict.
The disciplinary committee explains in the verdict that Johnson is convicted of the slashing, as it is a “violent slashing” and that there is a “risk of injury”.
In the judgment, Andreas Johnson has also had to share his view of the situation.
“My intention is only to go for the puck to win the puck as we are down by a goal and chasing an equaliser. It was absolutely not the intention to hit the player and it was good that he could play on,” explains the 30-year-old.
Another factor in the decision is that it is also about a relapse, as Johnson was suspended in the SC play-offs last spring after a leg tackle in the SC quarter-final against Frölunda.
