Predicted Hull City line up for Middlesbrough with Ryan Giles and Kasey Palmer decisions made
Hull City start a new chapter this lunchtime at the Riverside Stadium
Hull City caretaker boss Andy Dawson will be forced into at least one change to the starting XI for Saturday’s early kick-off at Middlesbrough as he looks to get the team back to winning ways.
Charlie Hughes is suspended for the 12:30pm kick-off at the Riverside Stadium after collecting his fifth booking of the season in Tim Walter’s final game in charge on Tuesday night, the 2-0 defeat which saw him sacked in the hours following that game.
Hughes clashed with Ike Ugbo at the MKM Stadium and picked up his fourth booking for City, adding to the one he had collected for Wigan Athletic prior to his move to East Yorkshire in mid-August, meaning he will sit this one out but be back for next weekend’s home meeting with Blackburn Rovers.
Defender Sean McLoughlin will come in for Hughes as a straight swap and make his first appearance since coming off at half-time in the 4-0 defeat at Norwich City before the October international break.

Michael Carrick’s upbeat Middlesbrough message as they look to bounce back against Hull City
Boro host Hull City today looking to quickly get back to winning ways
One of the best things about the Championship is that there is usually a very quick opportunity to rebound after a disappointing defeat.
That’s exactly what Boro get this lunchtime when they host Hull City at the Riverside, just days after their three-game winning run came to a frustrating end in the defeat to Blackburn Rovers. The quick turnaround could be impactful as far as player availability is concerned though.
Boro were without numerous key players on Wednesday evening, with a few injuries running through the squad, while Seny Dieng, Finn Azaz and Delano Burgzorg were ill. Speaking after the game, Michael Carrick was unable to say whether he would have any players back for today’s game.

Regardless, the Boro boss has full belief in whatever players are fit enough – that they can quickly bounce back. Looking ahead to the Hull game, he said: “There was disappointment after the game, and frustration at the goal as well. Losing the goal in the way we did was a big blow, but you’ve got to use that to fire yourself up and get yourself ready for the weekend.
