Bournemouth retain Fran Garcia interest
Premier League club Bournemouth will reportedly look to sign 25-year-old Spanish wide player Fran Garcia from Real Madrid next year.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Fran Garcia is the subject of interest from Bournemouth. The Cherries are keen on signing a left-back next year amid uncertainties around the future of Milos Kerkez. So, the 25-year-old Real Madrid wide player has emerged as a target for the Premier League club.
The Fran Garcia story
Fran Garcia established himself as one of the best left-backs in La Liga before rejoining Real Madrid from Rayo Vallecano in July 2023. A native of Bolanos de Calatrava, the Spaniard began his youth career in his hometown before joining Real Madrid in 2013. However, while he progressed through the ranks at La Fabrica, failure to secure first-team minutes compelled him to join Rayo Vallecano.
The 25-year-old spent three seasons with Rayo Vallecano before rejoining Real Madrid last year. However, Garcia has had to bide his time, with Ferland Mendy being the first-choice left-back for Carlo Ancelotti. That has also reflected in his game time this term, with the player managing only 772 minutes of action in 17 appearances in all competitions.
However, Garcia’s stock in the market is high, with several well-known clubs across Europe setting their sights on him. Recent reports have linked the Spanish full-back with Borussia Dortmund. However, an adventure in the Premier League might be on the cards, with Bournemouth vying for his signature.
Premier League adventure on the horizon?
Bournemouth’s interest in Fran Garcia is understandable. The Cherries are scouring the market for a left-back ahead of the two transfer windows next year amid uncertainties surrounding the long-term future of Milos Kerkez. The Hungarian international is a target for several high-profile clubs.
Recent reports have also linked Kerkez with Real Madrid, while several Premier League bigwigs are keen on securing his services next year. So, Bournemouth must remain ready to sign a replacement, with Garcia a viable target, considering the Spaniard’s situation at Real Madrid.
However, the report has suggested that Real Madrid might not sanction Garcia’s sale next year as they view him as an asset. It will be interesting to see if Bournemouth can convince Los Blancos to part ways with the 25-year-old Spanish wide player.
