The Louisville football team will wrap up its 2024 season on New Year’s Even when they square off against Washington in the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl.

Kickoff for the game is set for 2 p.m. from Sun Bowl Stadium in El Paso, TX. CBS will have the television coverage.

This will be Louisville’s first ever game against Washington, but its second appearance in the Sun Bowl. The Cardinals defeated Drake, 34-20, in the 1958 Sun Bowl.

Fresh off an appearance in the 2023 national championship game, Washington went 6-6 in its first season as a member of the Big Ten. The Huskies were led by quarterback Will Rogers, who threw for 2,514 yards and 14 touchdowns.

It’s not what could have been, but some Cardinal football to kickoff New Year’s Eve celebrations isn’t bad. No clue who will or won’t be playing, but here’s hoping we end this thing on a high note.

One of the areas Forbes will focus on is regaining his confidence, which his new coaches have identified as a key factor in unlocking his potential. Forbes himself acknowledged this, noting that his struggles in Washington weren’t entirely physical.

“One thing I’ve already heard from the coaches here is that I wasn’t playing with confidence,” Forbes shared. “Changing that will be central to turning things around.”

Forbes’ rookie season with the Commanders was marked by inconsistency, but his talent and athleticism remain undeniable. At 6-foot and 180 pounds, Forbes is known for his ball-hawking abilities, which helped him excel in college.
