L.A. Dodgers’ Freddie Freeman’s inspirational journey to the World Series | MLB on FOX
Tom Rinaldi sat down with Los Angeles Dodgers’ Freddie Freeman to talk about the impact his father has made throughout his life and what a World Series victory over the New York Yankees would mean.
While Christmas Day and the first night of Hanukkah were both hopefully a great break for everyone, Wednesday was also the day Dodgers fans got their first message from Walker Buehler since he signed with the Boston Red Sox.
Buehler sent a message on his personal X account to Dodger fans who may have got his No. 21 jersey as a gift for the holidays.
In other Dodgers news, general manager Brandon Gomes recently gave an update on two injured pitchers, saying they are expected to miss a majority of the 2025 season.
And finally, as Teoscar Hernandez and the Dodgers remain apart on contract talks, could the Dodgers pivot to a Luis Robert Jr. trade?
Here’s all the latest Dodgers news and stories (click the headline for the full article):
Walker Buehler may not pitch for the Los Angeles Dodgers next season, but he’ll always be a legend in L.A.
Buehler, who agreed to a one-year, $21.05 million deal with the Boston Red Sox this week, will pitch on a non-Dodgers team for the first time in his professional career next season. Buehler was selected by the Dodgers in the first round of the 2015 MLB Draft. He debuted with the team in 2017, and made two All-Star teams and won two World Series trophies along his journey.
This past year, Buehler played hero in the World Series against the New York Yankees. Buehler pitched five shutout innings in Game 3 of the World Series. Two days later, he pitched the final three outs in Game 5 to clinch the World Series for L.A.
While Buehler won’t be pitching in Los Angeles in 2025, his legend will still live on in the Dodgers organization forever. The fact that Buehler was the hero less than two months ago, though, means his No. 21 jersey was a great present for the holidays — especially since he remained a free agent just a few days ago.
While fans on social media were posting pictures of their Buehler jerseys as gift, the 30-year-old right-hander took notice. He decided to send a nice message to Dodger fans who may be unhappy that their gift is the jersey of a player not on the team anymore.
