Leeds United must follow recent Archie Gray contract agreement with another for star player - View - LeedsAllOver

Another Leeds United player has just reached an agreement on personal terms to leave

Leeds United have already lost 13 players so far this summer and another could be about to follow after reaching an agreement on personal terms.

The Whites have been extremely good at shifting some of their unwanted players in recent weeks but aside from Rasmus Kristensen, it is their key men now coming into the focus of other teams.

Kristensen is another who has verbally agreed personal terms to exit Elland Road, with the most likely scenario at this stage another loan, this time to Eintracht Frankfurt.

He had been due to return for pre-season before tomorrow’s trip to Harrogate Town, though it remains to be seen if the Denmark international has been granted extra time to secure his move.

Wilfried Gnonto, Junior Firpo and Crysencio Summerville are among the other players seemingly in talks over an Elland Road exit.

Major update emerges on Junior Firpo’s future at Leeds

Leeds are already extremely short when it comes to their options at the back, and so losing Firpo would be a major blow, particularly considering he provided eight assists from January onwards last season.

Beyond a back four of Sam Byram, Joe Rodon, Pascal Struijk and Firpo, Leeds literally have no depth behind it due to the players they have lost this summer.

But Firpo’s former club Real Betis are reported to be in talks with Leeds over a potential return to the club, a move in which he is keen to take.

And now Spanish outlet Ficherio have provided a major update on his future, reporting that Firpo has reached an agreement on personal terms with Betis.

It is said Firpo has even agreed to take a pay cut in order to get the deal over the line, and is now waiting for the two clubs to get the deal done.

Given Firpo’s current salary at Leeds was expected to prove a stumbling block, clearly his willingness to reduce it shows Betis is the place he wants to go.

What is Leeds’ stance on Firpo’s future?

As mentioned, letting Firpo go would leave them desperately short at the back and without a player who became integral under Daniel Farke.

However, his contract situation at Elland Road puts Leeds in a difficult position as he has less than 12 months remaining on his current deal.

So far, Leeds have shown no intention of offering him a new one, meaning this summer is the last chance for them to get a fee for him.

With that in mind, Leeds are said to be ‘open’ to letting Firpo go, but it certainly leaves them with so much to do in the market.
