Shocking news’ for Southampton man as he suffers ‘partial fracture’ in his arm – Puts a temporary stop to good season
Paul Onuachu’s rise back from his misery at Southampton on loan at Trabzonspor has come to an abrupt halt as he’s suffered a fracture in his arm.
That’s according to Kuzey Anadolu, who bring the ‘shocking news’ about the striker today and the ‘partial fracture’ that may have brought his good run to an end.
Onuachu has been with Trabzonspor since the summer after joining on loan at Southampton following his miserable six months with the Saints.
He joined them from Genk in an €18m deal in January last year as part of their efforts to avoid relegation but barely featured before the end of the season as Southampton eventually dropped to the Championship.
He’s rediscovered his form in Turkey, though, with nine goals and three assists in 19 games so far meaning everyone is happy with the deal and numerous reports suggesting it could be made permanent, or at least extended, in the summer.
That good run is now at an end, though, with Kuzey Anadolu reporting that the striker has had his arm put in a cast after suffering a ‘partial crush fracture’ in the recent clash with Başakşehir in the Ziraat Turkish Cup in Trabzonspor.
He was withdrawn in the 68th minute in that game and it’s since been revealed the Southampton loanee has suffered a fracture, which could mean a lengthy time away from the pitch.
