Green Bay Packers Sign Former Dallas Cowboys Defender For Playoff Push (Report)
The Green Bay Packers once again find themselves in a “win and in” situation entering the final week of the season. The Packers were bested by the Detroit Lions last season in the final week of the season that saw them get eliminated from the playoffs. This year they will face that same scenario, however, this time it will be against the Chicago Bears.
Prior to the biggest matchup of the season, the Packers decided to bring in a defender who has spent time with the Dallas Cowboys.
The Green Bay Packers Bring In A Former Dallas Cowboys Safety Prior To Regular Season Finale
According to the Packers’ official website:
The Green Bay Packers signed S Tyler Coyle to the practice squad on Jan. 1, 2023. Coyle (6-1, 209), a first-year player, was originally signed as an undrafted free agent out of Purdue by the Dallas Cowboys on May 14, 2021.
He spent the past two seasons on the Cowboys’ practice squad and active roster, appearing in three games and recording six tackles (all solo) on defense and three tackles on special teams. Coyle was released by Dallas after the 2023 training camp. He spent four years at the University of Connecticut (2016-19) before playing the 2020 season for Purdue. Coyle will wear No. 24 for the Packers.
One of the first things that stand out is Coyle’s Relative Athletic Score (RAS):
Tyler Coyle is a SS prospect in the 2021 draft class. He scored a 9.83 RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 14 out of 754 SS from 1987 to 2021.
