Leeds United player ratings from Hull City victory as Manor Solomon shines on debut
Leeds United made it back-to-back victories in the Championship ahead of the first international break with a 2-0 win over Hull City. Here are our player ratings.
Illan Meslier – 6
Made a couple of important saves but nearly cost Leeds a goal with a shocker of a pass to Ethan Ampadu inside his own area during the first half.
Jayden Bogle – 6
Liam Millar caused him a few problems down that left-hand-side, though nothing too major. Tried to get involved going forward, but not as influential as last week.
Joe Rodon – 6
Steady enough at the back but did pick up a rash booking in the first half and had a loose moment on the ball after the opener, which put Leeds under pressure.
Pascal Struijk – 7
The ball seems to be like a magnet to him from set-pieces at both ends. Pretty neat and tidy in possession, too, as he has been all season.

Junior Firpo – 7
Always getting forward and looking to contribute in attack and finally got his just rewards with a brilliant pass on the counter for Joel Piroe to finish the game.
Ethan Ampadu – 6
Steady away in the midfield and helped sustain pressure in the second half by being in the right place at the right time.
Ilia Gruev – 5
Decent enough in possession but it’s in games like this where it’s really noticeable Leeds are lacking that more advanced number eight, which hopefully Ao Tanaka will provide.
Wilfried Gnonto – 7
Disappointing from Daniel Farke to put him back on the right after he was so impressive on the other flank and centrally at Sheffield Wednesday. Still unbelievably sharp though, particularly second half.
Brenden Aaronson – 8
Despite not getting on the scoresheet, this was arguably his best performance yet. Very sharp in possession and showed some neat footwork.

Manor Solomon – 8
Started really brightly early but faded a tad as the game went on. However, a brilliant piece of work down the left to assist Mateo Joseph shows the quality he will bring.
Mateo Joseph – 7
Linked the play up well when he did get the ball, but didn’t get an awful lot of service aside from Solomon’s cross that he steered home brilliantly for his first of the season.
