Mason Posa reported an offer from Alabama football Saturday after a conversation with the Crimson Tide’s General Manager Courtney Morgan.
Posa is a product of La Cueva High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Most recruiting sites consider him to be a 2025 four-star linebacker prospect.
The junior told Touchdown Alabama an offer from the Tide is big for him considering the program’s past success.
“It means a lot,” Posa said. “They’ve been big dogs forever and just getting an offer like this means the world to me.”
Posa has a previous and good relationship with Morgan, Kalen DeBoer and other members of Alabama’s staff. The four-star is confident DeBoer will do good things in Tuscaloosa.
“I think he is a great coach and is going to build a great program,” Posa said.
At 6-foot-3 and 210 pounds, Posa pursues the football with great effort. He plays sideline to sideline with great backside pursuit, and he flashes great athleticism when dropping back in coverage. The new Alabama target is productive no matter where he lines up on defense.
“I think I just have a nose for the football,” said Posa. “I also can play from anywhere on the field. I definitely think that is my biggest strength, but what I take pride in the most is my effort because I go 100 miles per hour 100 percent of the time.”
