Former Coventry City captain John Eustace is expected to be confined to the stands for Blackburn Rovers’ crucial last day match at Leicester after being show the red card following an altercation with Kasey Palmer.
The 44-year-old Rovers’ manager clashed with the Sky Blues player when the ball went out of play near the dugouts early in the second half of the goalless draw at Ewood Park where the home side were desperately looking for victory to secure their Championship status on the day and avoid the uncertainty of any final day nerves at the King Power Stadium where they now may need to avoid defeat to ensure they don’t get relegated.
With the ball going out of play, Palmer grabbed the ball and held onto it provoking a reaction from former Birmingham boss Eustace who attempted to grapple it back to get the game going again as quickly as possible. A melee involving several players from each side followed before referee Anthony Backhouse showed Palmer a yellow card for his part and Eustace a straight red.
