Rob McElhenney and Kaitlin Olson enjoyed pints with a pub full of Wrexham fans as they celebrated promotion to League One.

Backed by co-owners McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, the Red Dragons have secured successive promotions, finishing second in League Two this season to climb into the third tier of English football. They ended their season in style on Saturday, beating league champions Stockport County 2-1 in front of a home crowd thanks to a late goal from Andy Cannon.Boss Phil Parkinson wants Wrexham to prove they belong at a higher level - Limerick Live

With both a victory and promotion to toast, McElhenney and Olson couldn’t resist joining in with the celebrations after the final whistle, with the Hollywood couple popping into the now-iconic Turf pub for a couple of pints.

The pair, who have been married for 16 years after first starring together in It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, joined landlord Wayne Jones behind the bar as the pub erupted into song. With pints in hand, they posed for photos with staff and fans with McElhenney – sporting a Wrexham scarf – raising a toast to the hundreds gathered inside the pub.Boss Phil Parkinson wants Wrexham to prove they belong at a higher level - Limerick Live

In brilliant footage captured by DASLE’s Watching WrexhamFC (Putting on a show)’ YouTube channel, the actor is seen joining in with chants of ‘Town are going up, olé, olé’. However, it was then his turn to be serenaded by the crowd, who sang: “He’s one of our own, he’s one of our own – Rob McElhenney, he’s one of our own.”

They also belted out a few lines of The Declan Swans’ hit song ‘It’s Always Sunny in Wrexham’, singing: “Less than a mile from the centre of Town, a famous old stadium crumbling down. No one’s invested so much as a penny – bring on the Deadpool and Rob McElhenney!”
