REPORT: Joe Flacco Reveals Shocking Reason Why He Did Not Sign With Cleveland Browns

Current Indianapolis Colts quarterback Joe Flacco shocked many fans and analysts this offseason when he did not re-sign with the Cleveland Browns after a successful 2023 campaign. Flacco was able to help Cleveland amount to an 11-6 record and brought the team to the postseason despite several key injuries throughout the regular season. The reasoning

According to Flacco, he was surprised that he did not re-sign with the team and that he would have loved to come back for another year. However, the Browns organization believed that the quarterback’s style of play did not fit their scheme well, which led to them signing Jameis Winston instead, leading to Flacco being dealt away.

There have been previous rumors that Flacco did not come back to Cleveland because of contract disputes, and the fact that he would likely become the backup option to Deshaun Watson next season, which would probably lead to controversy. Many see Flacco as the better option under center rather than Watson, so there would likely be drama as the season goes on.

After coming in for Watson in 2023, the veteran quarterback was able to amount to 1,616 passing yards and 13 touchdowns while helping Cleveland clinch a spot in the postseason. Flacco has been in the league since 2008, making him one of the oldest current players still in the NFL today.

The veteran started his career with the Baltimore Ravens, where he won the Super Bowl and earned the Super Bowl MVP award in 2013. He spent most of his career in Baltimore until 2019, when he signed with the Denver Broncos for a season, then went to the New York Jets for three seasons as a backup option.

Even though he would have liked to remain in Cleveland in 2024, he seems determined to have the same success in Indianapolis in 2024 if his name is called. Do you think the Browns should have kept Flacco, or did they make the right decision to move on from an aging veteran?
