Las Vegas Raiders Select Potential Franchise QB in Latest 2024 NFL Mock Draft
Who will be manning under center for the Las Vegas Raiders in 2024?
In ESPN’s Matt Miller’s latest 2024 NFL mock draft, the Las Vegas Raiders will be making quite the interesting pick when the club is on the clock at 13th overall.
Despite signing veteran signal caller, Gardner Minshew to a two-year, $25 million deal this off-season, Miller, has Raiders selecting Oregon quarterback and 2023 Heisman Trophy finalist, Bo Nix.
“The Raiders signed veteran Gardner Minshew in free agency and have Aidan O’Connell returning but are still in position to add a starting-caliber quarterback if one is available in Round 1. Nix, who started 61 games in college, threw 113 touchdown passes and ran for 38 more scores over five seasons. He would give the Raiders’ offense the dual-threat aspect it needs for new coordinator Luke Getsy. The Raiders could also be in play for a right tackle or wide receiver at this spot after being quiet on the offensive side of the ball in free agency.”
Las Vegas Raiders’ Disappointing 2023 Season
Expectations were high heading into 2023 for the Las Vegas Raiders. Fast forward halfway through the season, Josh McDaniels is out as head coach, Jimmy Garoppolo was benched for rookie Aidan O’Connell, and the club found themselves with a disgruntled star in wideout, DaVante Adams.
However, interim head coach, Antonio Pierce provided quite the boost for the club as the Raiders throttled the Los Angeles Chargers 63-21 on national television, which kickstarted a 3-1 run to end the season for the black and silver. Heading into this off-season, some players, most notably star pass rusher, Maxx Crosby threatened to request a trade of Pierce wasn’t named full-time head coach, which he subsequently was.
