Denver Broncos Scouting the Enemy: Cleveland Browns - Mile High Report

Miami Dolphins Re-Sign Kendall Lamm

The Miami Dolphins announced they have re-signed tackle Kendall Lamm.

Lamm played in 17 games for Miami last season with eight starts – seven at left tackle and one at right tackle. He helped Miami lead the NFL in total offense (401.3) and passing offense (265.5). Lamm has played in 104 career games with 37 starts over nine NFL seasons. He’s also appeared in eight playoff games with one postseason start. Lamm began his career as an undrafted college free agent with Houston on May 8, 2015 and has played for Houston (2015-18), Cleveland (2019-20), Tennessee (2021) and Miami (2022-23). He played collegiately at Appalachian State.

It’s been a hot minute getting these negotiations to be final. Rumors started to circulate back in March when Beckham had visited Miami’s facility and head coach Mike McDaniel had confirmed that they had extended an offer. But after that, things fell silent.

As April approached, the thought of OBJ coming to Miami started to feel like a fever dream. However, the team made it official just five days after news broke that the team and OBJ had come to a contract agreement.

Beckham was offered other numbers from other teams, but decided to take a lower offer with Miami. With a base salary of $3 million with incentives up to $8.25 million, OBJ is taking a near $12 million cut from his one-year, $15 million deal he had with the Baltimore Ravens. Some fans say that the Dolphins are paying him too much, and some say Miami got him on a steal.

With the Dolphins already having an elite receiving room with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, it seems that they just add more boost with Beckham joining them. The OBJ move comes after Miami selected two wide receivers in the 2024 NFL draft in Malik Washington of Virginia and Tahj Washington of USC.

Obviously with Beckham being a rookie in the game, it’s likely we’ll see him in the No. 3 role behind Hill and Waddle, and can potentially shift towards not heavily relying on those two to carry the offense.  Beckham also helps provide a much-needed boost, protecting and being that option for when Hill and/or Waddle go down with injuries, as we saw at the end of last season with both of them spent some time nursing injuries.

The Dolphins did also re-sign Braxton Berrios and River Cracraft, so with the new draft selections and Beckham joining the squad, the team might’ve done themselves a favor.
