Cardiff City linked with Man Utd legend’s son amid Hull City and Huddersfield Town interest

The Bluebirds want to add at least one attacker before the window is over

Cardiff City have been linked with a move for Barnsley striker Devante Cole.

It’s no secret the Bluebirds need to add firepower up top this month, with their striker stable currently lacking in both confidence and goals so far this season.

The Bluebirds were in for Turkey international Umut Nayir but he opted to stay in his native country with a loan move to Pendikspor. Cardiff have expressed their interest in Wales star Kieffer Moore and have held talks with Bournemouth over a move, but the Cherries need a striker in desperately before they allow the former Bluebirds front man to leave.

LATEST: Erol Bulut just named what he wants in this transfer window and now Cardiff City face critical fortnight

And it wouldn’t be outlandish to claim that Cardiff could bring in more than one striker before the window closes. The latest name linked with a move to Cardiff is Barnsley striker Devante Cole, with Sky Sports reporting that Championship rivals Huddersfield Town and Hull City are also interested. Sign up to the free Cardiff City WhatsApp service

The 28-year-old, who is the son of Manchester United legend Andy Cole, is League One’s second-highest scorer with 15 goals this season. We understand no new signings are imminent at Cardiff at the moment, so if there is interest then it’s at very early stages.

Cole has had something of a nomadic career but appears to have found his feet at Barnsley. He scored 15 league goals last season and has chalked up the same tally in almost half the time this time around
