Browns Set To Meet With Top QB Prospect On Tuesday

The Cleveland Browns may be one of the best teams in the league right now, with the squad stacked on both sides of the football, but the team won’t be able to bring in any top-tier talent from the college game this year.

Cleveland won’t have a pick in the first 50 picks in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft, which obviously puts them out of contention for any of the top quarterbacks and wide receivers available come April 25.

Despite that being the case, the Browns will be looking at one quarterback, in particular, on Tuesday, with Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report reporting that the team will visit with Joe Milton from the University of Tennessee.

At this point in time, the top quarterbacks in the upcoming draft are Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, Jayden Daniels, and J.J. McCarthy, with some consideration being given to Michael Penix Jr. and Bo Nix.

Obviously, unless the Browns somehow trade up to snag one of these promising young quarterbacks, the Browns won’t be bringing in top-tier talent at the position to back up Deshaun Watson and veteran newcomer Jameis Winston.

However, Cleveland does seem to be looking at the future, with Watson struggling to stay healthy early in his stint with the team and Winston clearly not the long-term option under center.

It’s not a terrible move to start looking at quarterbacks with no telling how long Watson will last as the starter in Cleveland and a player like Milton potentially fitting the bill and being able to sit behind two veterans for the time being.
