New York Jets: Fans React to Outrageous Reported Reason Aaron Rodgers Missed Minicamp
The New York Jets are about to embark on what could be a turning point season in the franchise. After losing four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers to a torn Achillies in Week One of the 2023 season, the Jets’ lack of talent around him was terribly exposed. Additionally, the transactions they made to please their new quarterback did not pan out.
Among many other things, the Jets’ treatment of former second-overall pick Zach Wilson became an embarrassment in what was a truly embarrassing season. Wilson’s comments about the organization, as well as those of other current players, painted the picture of an organization that had other things going on within in it than focusing on football.
New York Jets Quarterback Aaron Rodgers Reportedly Missed Mandatory Minicamp for an Ayahuasca Retreat
As many fans are aware, Rodgers made headlines last week when he was listed as absent unexcused from the Jets’ mandatory minicamp. Head coach Robert Saleh told reporters that the star quarterback was attending an event that was very important to him.
According to a recent report, that event might have been an ayahuasca retreat:
“The best I can answer this right now that I feel solid about is that he is somewhere that they could not excuse and maintain credibility with the rest of the locker room, but would be expected, would not be an out-of-left-field thing for him,” Albert Breer said on ‘The Rich Eisen Show
“So you guys can open your mind, so to speak, as he’s been known to open his mind sometimes, into all the possibilities,” he continued.
The phrasing that Breer used was similar to same kinds of phrases Rodgers has used in the past to describe why he goes on such retreats.
