Analyst Says Dolphins Are In The Market To Bolster 1 Position

After putting together one of the most electric offenses in 2023, the Miami Dolphins underwhelmed in their lone playoff game in the Wild Card round against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Dolphins only mustered seven points against the Chiefs and it showed that they needed more receiver depth behind Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.

Hill was the primary read for Tua Tagovailoa and should be in line to command most of the targets again, with Waddle filling in as the team’s No. 2.

Head coach Mike McDaniel crafted one of the most unique schemes in the league but even he couldn’t find a way to get it to translate to the playoffs.

However, this offseason represents an opportunity for the Dolphins to shore up their roster and add some reinforcements to the offense.

Even with Hill and Waddle, Miami could use another weapon in the passing game, via Mike Clay of ESPN.

“The Dolphins are surely in the market for a No. 3 WR for next season. Current depth: Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Erik Ezukanma, Braylon Sanders, Anthony Schwartz, Mathew Sexton,” Clay reported.

There isn’t much experience or talent behind Hill and Waddle, so adding a reliable third receiver should be a priority.

Although the Dolphins have largely stood pat during free agency, they’ve got a first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and could address their need there.

The draft is loaded with wide receiver prospects and Miami can find a contributor early on if they choose to go that route.

Should they add another viable weapon, the offense could take another leap in 2024.
