How Man Utd’s decision to sack Ten Hag has now cast doubt on Steve Cooper’s Leicester City future
Steve Cooper may be wishing Manchester United left it one more week before deciding to sack Erik ten Hag.
The big talking point ahead of Leicester City facing Manchester United on Wednesday was the recent sacking of Erik ten Hag.
The Red Devils are once again floundering in the Premier League despite heavy investment over the summer and their new owners decided the time was right to part ways with Ten Hag.
Ruud van Nistelrooy has taken temporary charge of the Manchester outfit and was in the Old Trafford dugout when Steve Cooper brought his side to town.
It was a poor performance from Leicester, with James Justin struggling against Manchester United and Cooper likely concerned about how Bobby De Cordova-Reid played.
What is likely to concern the Leicester manager more, however, is his own future at the King Power Stadium after such a hammering at the hands of Man Utd.

United, at least going forward, looking much improved against Leicester.
Stars like Marcus Rashford and Casemiro, who scored twice, were excellent against the Foxes, perhaps due to the new manager bounce.
Speaking after the game, journalist Charlotte Duncker questioned if the tie would have been different for Leicester had Ten Hag still been in charge.
She said: “There is always the cliche of the ‘new manager bounce’. I do fear for Leicester City because, if Ten Hag was still in charge, maybe it would have been a slightly easier game for them.
“The players have been feeling the pressure. It is hard to see how there could be a drastic upturn but there is normally that ‘new manager bounce’.”
Unfortunately for Cooper, Duncker is likely correct in her assessment as it was pretty evident United were a much better team on Wednesday.
That defeat has piled the pressure on the ex-Forest boss, with Leicester fans calling for Cooper’s sacking after Manchester United.
