Bruno Guimaraes sends new message to Newcastle fans amid interest from AFC Bournemouth Deal was Finalized
Newcastle United fans are waiting nervously to see if Bruno Guimaraes will remain at St James’ Park.
The 26-year-old is a man in demand after a fantastic season in a Newcastle United shirt, proving to be one of the Magpies’ best players alongside Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon.
Bruno Guimaraes proved himself to be a world class talent, while he spent the last quarter of the season desperately avoiding a two-game suspension. The discipline and durability he showed was outstanding, missing just one game all season.
After playing 50 games out of 51, now Bruno has a brief rest. However, it will not be long before he is representing Brazil, as they aim to win this year’s Copa America.
After the South American tournament, attention will turn back towards Bruno’s club career.
Bruno Guimaraes sends message about ‘next season’
The midfielder is already excited to see what the 2024/25 campaign will bring, and has delivered a fresh message to supporters via his social media channels.
Bruno took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and Instagram to release a video of his best bits – which I doubt he edited himself – as he reflects on what was a career best campaign in terms of goals and assists. He got 17 goal contributions in total, scoring seven times and getting 10 assists.
Alongside the video, Bruno wrote: “The 23/24 season is over, bring on 24/25.”
Newcastle United at risk of losing Bruno to AFC Bournemouth or Manchester City
Bruno’s message is ‘bring on’ next season, and Newcastle fans would have the same attitude if they knew the Brazilian would be spending it at St James’ Park.
However, his future remains in doubt as we head into a crucial part of the summer. We are entering the window where Bruno’s £100million release clause is active, with potential suitors having a limited period of time to sign the Newcastle United superstar.
If a club comes in with a £100million offer, Newcastle will be powerless. Then it will be up to Bruno to decide his fate.
For now, it remains to be seen if anyone will activate that release clause. Arsenal and Manchester City have both been heavily linked with signing Bruno, but seem unwilling to pay the nine-figure sum.
It has been reported that Arsenal believe they can sign him for less later in the summer, while Man City seemingly do not value Bruno at £100million – which is the same amount of money they spent on Jack Grealish in 2021.
Given their views on his release clause, there is a decent chance that the season Bruno is looking forward to so much will be spent in the black and white of Newcastle. That will mean no European football, with the Magpies failing to qualify.
Whether or not that influences Bruno’s stance remains to be seen.
