BREAKING NEWS: Brian Callahan, the offensive coordinator for the Bengals, has formally said farewell to the team and the supporters as he joins a rival.

He could be on the move.

The NFL offseason is in full swing for many teams, including the Cincinnati Bengals. After managing to keep their staff intact after a Super Bowl appearance and AFC Championship game appearance in consecutive seasons, their assistants will likely get looks outside of the building.

Nobody on the Bengals’ staff seems to be more in demand than offensive coordinator Brian Callahan. After losing Joe Burrow for the season, the Bengals were forced to adjust their offense and found success with it, winning four of their last seven games and having fairly good offensive production in that stretch.

The offense hanging in there despite losing their franchise quarterback has apparently drawn interest from several teams. Callahan is scheduled to speak with the Carolina Panthers, Atlanta Falcons, Tennessee Titans, and Los Angeles Chargers about their head coaching vacancies.

Last offseason, Callahan’s only real interest came from the Indianapolis Colts. Callahan went deep into the interview process with the Colts before they ultimately landed on Shane Steichen.

This would be the first major exit via promotion in the Zac Taylor era, and with four teams already booking time with Callahan, Taylor could be searching for a new offensive coordinator.

If he does leave Cincinnati, we can at least hope he hires his father, Cleveland Browns offensive line coach Bill Callahan. If we have to lose Brian, he can at least get Bill out of the division for us on his way out.
