Crystal Palace now want to sign striker who scored a hat tricks this season as targeted by Brighton

Crystal Palace now want to sign someone who scored a hat trick against Brighton earlier this season.

Sources have told We Are Palace that Odsonne Edouard is likely to be sold this summer after struggling to assert himself since a £14m move from Celtic in August 2021.

As a result, Oliver Glasner is seemingly on the lookout for a striker to replace the Frenchman, and reports now claim that Crystal Palace want to sign a man who humiliated bitter rivals Brighton back in January…

Crystal Palace want Elijah Adebayo

A story by Give Me Sport is now claiming that Crystal Palace want to sign Elijah Adebayo from Luton Town this summer.

The 26-year-old has been a surprise success story of the 2023/24 campaign after netting just eight goals in 45 Championship appearances last season, scoring ten in 25 Premier League outings so far this term.

Adebayo’s haul includes that aforementioned treble against Brighton, which took him just 56 minutes to score in a 4-0 win at Kenilworth Road.

Give Me Sport add that the man from Brent is likely to be available this summer if Luton Town suffer relegation – something that could officially happen on Saturday depending on what Nottingham Forest do against Chelsea.

It is said that Leicester City, Ipswich Town and Bournemouth are also looking at Adebayo, who the Hatters signed from Walsall for just £250,000 back in January 2021.

If the price is right, Oliver Glasner should push Steve Parish to bid

We don’t believe it’s worth spending around £15m or £20m on Adebayo this summer due to the form of Jean-Philippe Mateta, but if he’s available for a sum in the region of £5m to £10m, we should definitely pounce.

The Londoner is just 26 years of age and has proven himself to be a real handful in the Premier League this season, scoring against English giants such as Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea and Newcastle.

There is also an argument that Luton may well have stayed up this season, had Adebayo not missed 11 of the last 13 Premier League outings through injury – a run which saw the Hatters pick up just five points without their talisman.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as a deal could materialise if Luton Town suffer relegation.

Crystal Palace’s interest is highlighted and in fact, it’s claimed they are ‘above all’ in the race for the attacking midfielder, who can play on the wing or through the middle.
Oliver Glasner’s side would be delighted to know that the Argentina U21 international has already stated that it would be a dream for him to make a switch to the Premier League.

The Argentina U21 international has scored 11 goals and registered three assists from 36 games for Frosinone this season and will have to return to Juve in the summer. His deal with the latter lasts until 2026 and the report states the Turin club value him at €35m.

Earlier claims had stated Juve need €40m to part ways with Soulé, after having rejected a €25m bid from Al-Ittihad in January. The Italian media are trying to increase the price, but the deal could probably be concluded for less in the end.
