NFL Power Rankings Week 11: Philadelphia Eagles are the No. 1 team

Eagles Get Huge Jalen Hurts Update After Week 18 Injury

The Philadelphia Eagles have received some important news on QB Jalen Hurts following his Week 18 injury.

A disastrous Sunday for the Philadelphia Eagles was made even worse by the fact quarterback Jalen Hurts suffered a gruesome-looking finger injury against the New York Giants. He didn’t play at all in the second half, though that could’ve been due to the Eagles waving the white flag.

Regardless, fans are worried about the star’s status with an approaching playoff game next Monday. Thankfully, Philadelphia has received some good news on Hurts’ status.

Eagles News: Jalen Hurts Finger Injury Update

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports Hurts did not suffer a fracture to his right middle finger on Sunday. Pelissero adds the dual threat is simply day-to-day following his dislocation in Week 18.

This is a huge sigh of relief. A last-minute injury to Hurts, on his throwing hand no less, could’ve been the final nail in the coffin for this Eagles season.

Instead, Philadelphia can now focus on preparing as usual with Hurts in tow. The dynamic talent gives this team a chance to win as long as he’s on the field, which seems to be the case for Wild Card Weekend.

Luckily for Hurts and other players banged up on Sunday like A.J. Brown, Philly has the benefit of extra rest since it’s slated to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday, Jan. 16. Every other matchup is scheduled for Saturday or Sunday, putting those squads at a disadvantage in terms of recovery time.

Hurts’ injury remains worth monitoring throughout the week for a potential impact on next Monday’s showdown. If the former second-round pick is active, though, expect him to give it his all, even if he’s not 100%.
