It remains unclear as to what stage a proposed new deal is at, though his presence at Middlewood Road is surely a sign beyond any lingering doubt that he will stay on this season.
Amid widespread speculation regarding his future, Röhl signed a new three-year deal to stay on at Wednesday last month. The German manager has spoken glowingly about the make-up of his backroom team and its importance. It’s believed that understood that other coaching staff were initially contracted in line with Röhl until the summer of 2025.
