Daniel Farke: Southampton will be highly motivated - Leeds United

Leeds United facing major PL competition for signing Farke “would love” – Journalist

Leeds United’s possible interest in signing Joe Rodon from Tottenham has been dealt a further blow as the three promoted clubs are joined by others too.

Missing out on Premier League football in the playoff final is something that will have dire implications in the transfer market for Leeds, even if they plan to be ambitious once again.

Re-signing well-performing loan players is always a difficulty when teams stay in the Championship, and that’s the case for Joe Rodon after a stunning season in Daniel Farke’s side.

Joe Rodon wanted by at least four or more Premier League clubs

Journalist Alasdair Gold has shared this week that there are at least four or more clubs in the running for Rodon hailing from the Premier League.

All three promoted sides that pipped Leeds: Ipswich Town, Southampton, and Leicester City, are all said to be keen.

Meanwhile, there are other unnamed clubs in the running according to Gold, as he spoke on the Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham podcast (18/6):“Joe Rodon, all three promoted clubs are interested in him: Ipswich, Leicester and Southampton.

“Leicester don’t have a manager at this moment in time, but it’s believed that their recruitment team really like him.

“From what I understand there’s other Premier League clubs as well. Leeds would love to have him back. I do wonder if it’s more difficult now having not got promotion and without the money they would have got from that too, and the fact that there are Premier League clubs looking at him.

“I think Spurs can quite safely assume that they’ll sell Joe Rodon for a decent bit of money because of the competition as well and that’s why they took up the option on his contract as well, so it didn’t run out this summer.”

Will Leeds get promoted next season?

Leeds need to give up on Rodon re-signing

It would be amazing if Rodon came back to Elland Road this summer, but we would have to fend off several Premier League sides.

That simply just isn’t happening, as optimistic as some Leeds fans are about the size and pull of the club right now.

The opportunity to play in the top flight is something Rodon won’t turn down, and that’s before discussing the fee and wages we’d be offering.
