Hull City boss addresses future transfer plans and contract situation
The Tigers hope they’ll be kicking off next season in the Premier League in mid-August
Hull City are in the thick of the promotion race at the top end of the Championship, and naturally, attention has already turned to what may happen should the Tigers secure promotion to the Premier League.
Given the winner of the play-off final has barely two months to prepare for the start of the new season in the world’s most competitive league, having plans in place before the Wembley final on May 26 is absolutely crucial.
City boss Liam Rosenior says he’s a firm believer in giving those players who achieved promotion a chance in the top flight, and would be keen to do the same, should his side cap off a fine campaign with play-off success.

“I think that a lot of clubs think they have to go completely different when they get promoted to the Premier League. That they have to go to a different market. I don’t agree,” Rosenior tells Hull Live when asked if he’s got plans in place for both possible outcomes this season.
“From my experiences as a player, here, and especially at Brighton as well when we were promoted, we kept the core group. We kept the core group because you are used to winning games. I watched Chelsea (versus) Leeds (In the FA Cup), it was a really good game and I felt Leeds were really, really good.
Leeds were a team that are used to winning games of football this season and it made for a really, really tough game for Chelsea. Having momentum, I remember Sheffield United with Chris Wilder. They went up and they did really, really well with the same group.
“For me, what division we’re in doesn’t really affect my thinking in terms of what we need. It may change the level of player that you’re looking to bring in, but I don’t think you need to start breaking the bank to be successful at the next level.
