Hull City head coach Liam Rosenior reveals reason for key absence in Millwall win

The experienced goalkeeper was not involved on Saturday

Hull City boss Liam Rosenior has explained why goalkeeper Matt Ingram was left out of the squad for Saturday’s 1-0 win against Millwall at the MKM Stadium.

It was the first time this season Ingram had not been selected in a matchday squad owing to selection decisions made by Rosenior, with his only other absence this term coming at Millwall in October when he was given compassionate leave to be at the birth of his baby boy.

City boss Rosenior opted to give January signing Ivor Pandur a place on the bench for the game, which the Tigers won by a Jaden Philogene goal to nil, with Ryan Allsop continuing to keep his place in the starting line-up and once again delivering a solid showing, particularly the save he made in the 94th minute to deny Tom Bradshaw an equaliser.

No, just selection,” Rosenior said when asked by Hull Live why Ingram wasn’t involved. “Obviously we signed Ivor. He’s a very, very good young goalkeeper, but Ryan for me is doing really, really well.

“He showed his quality again, (he made a ) big save at the end but also how many times he came and took crosses when the ball came into our box. Matty’s a really, really good goalkeeper as well, and as I’ve said, I’m really fortunate, we’re getting stronger in every area. Matty’s unlucky not to be in the squad, but things can change very quickly.”
