Mahomes is the father of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes II, who is seven days away from facing off against the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII.

This is at least the third time that the elder Mahomes has received a DWI charge, per TMZ and The New York Post. Mahomes served 40 days in jail over weekends in 2019 and 2020 after being charged for a DWI in 2018.

It remains to be seen if Mahomes will be able to make it to Las Vegas for the Super Bowl.

Mahomes was a sixth round pick in the 1988 MLB Draft, and he made his big league debut with the Minnesota Twins in 1991. He spent fours years in Minneapolis before getting traded to the Boston Red Sox, where he spent the next season-and-a-half.
