Coventry City ‘very interested’ in Belgian forward as transfer gossip ramps up
Coventry City transfer gossip from CoventryLive as we bring you the latest player to be linked with interest from the Sky Blue
Coventry City have been linked with a promising young Belgian forward who is claimed to be on the club’s ‘shortlist’ this summer.
According to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the Sky Blues are eyeing Mitchy Ntelo, who currently plays for Bulgarian club Lokomotiv Plovdiv and is reported to have been the subject of a €700,000 bid from newly promoted Russian Premier League side FC Khimki.
Tavolieri, who has 98k followers on the social media platform X, says his club are asking for around €1.2million for the player whose main position is striker, but who can also play as a right or left winger.

The 23-year-old Liege-born player is contracted to Lokomotiv Plovdiv until 2026 and scored six goals and provided four assists in 29 appearances in all competitions last season, according to Transfermarkt.
Tavolieri said on X : “Freshly promoted to Russian D1, #FKKhimki attacks with an written bid of 700KEUR for Mitchy Ntelo!
“His Bulgarian club, Lokomotiv Plovdiv, asking around €1.2M.
“ Coventry City – very interested – has placed him on their shortlist for this summer.”
CoventryLive verdict: It’s difficult to know whether or not to take links like this with a pinch of salt, but Ntelo would certainly seem to fit Coventry’s recruitment model, being a young player with development potential. And Mark Robins could well be in the market for a new striker who is different to big men Haji Wright and Ellis Simms this summer amid uncertainty surrounding Matty Godden’s future.
The stalwart striker has been the subject of speculation linking him with interest from League One Charlton Athletic this summer and it is no secret that the player would like more regular first team football after slipping down the pecking order at the CBS Arena.
Ntelo’s versatility of being able to play in several forward roles, meanwhile, would also appeal.
