Green Bay Packers: Matt LaFleur als stiller Architekt des Erfolgs

Green Bay Packers: Jordan Love Estimated to Demand $150,000,000 Contract Extension

Including all the bonuses, Jordan Love has earned himself around $15 million in 2024 after a tremendous first season as the Green Bay Packers’ QB1.

While some folks may have frowned at the amount of money the Packers were willing to pay an unproven quarterback immediately after the Aaron Rodgers era in Green Bay, Love quickly shut his naysayers down with an excellent campaign.

The downside to all this from a money perspective, however, is that the Packers will now need to shell out much more to retain the services of the 25-year-old.

Former sports agent turned NFL contracts expert Joel Corry recently shed some light on what a Jordan Love extension might look like for the Packers. Green Bay does not seem like they have any intentions of messing around, which is why they will reportedly be negotiating a new deal for Love very soon:

The expectation is the Packers and Love’s camp will start working on a contract extension after the 2024 Draft in late April. It wouldn’t be a surprise for Love to target more than the $50,271,667 per year ($150.815 million over three years) Rodgers got in 2022 in his final deal with the Packers. Love was more productive last season than the four-time NFL MVP was in 2022 when the Packers missed the playoffs with an 8-9 record,” Corry wrote.

That’s a whole lot of money. $50 million per season for Love represents more than a 300% increase from his 2024 salary, which will also make him one of the highest-paid QB’s in the game today.

For what it’s worth, Joe Burrow is currently sitting atop the quarterback rich list with $55 per — a record that could be shattered in the near future.
