Philadelphia Eagles Set To Sign Another Sensational Second-Round Running Back inorder to fill the gap
The Philadelphia Eagles finished with an 11-6 record last season after starting the season with a 10-1 record. It appeared as if Philadelphia was going to coast to another NFC East title until they collapsed late in the season. The Eagles lost in the NFC Wild Card Round to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
A lot of Philadelphia Eagles fans were calling for head coach Nick Siranni to be fired after last season. They were just in the Super Bowl two years ago against the Kansas City Chiefs. On paper, the Eagles might have the most talent in the NFC East entering the 2024 season.
If Philadelphia misses the playoffs this year, there will be a lot of questions surrounding head coach Nick Siranni and his coaching staff. Another person who will also have to be questioned is general manager Howie Roseman.
He has found talent through the NFL Draft, free agency, and trades, but paying players hefty contracts is what may cost him his job. Should Roseman make more moves before the start of the 2024 season for the Philadelphia Eagles?
The Philadelphia Eagles are Urged To Sign Former Second-Round Pick Dalvin Cook To Solidify the Running Back Position
The Eagles signed running back Saquon Barkley this offseason. He has been with the New York Giants ever since 2018 before that. Barkley is projected to be the starting running back on the Philadelphia Eagles roster, but what does the depth chart look like behind him?
At the moment, Kenneth Gainwell is the second running back on Philadelphia’s depth chart. Rookie Will Shipley and Lew Nichols are the fourth running back on the depth chart. They could definitely improve at the running back position behind Saquon Barkley.
According to NFL.com’s Kevin Patra, he thinks that the Eagles should sign free agent running back Dalvin Cook, who was a former second-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings. Patra said:
“Cook remains a free agent and noted it’s ‘wide open’ where he might land. Still just 28 years old, he could offer a veteran option if he proves fully healthy in 2024.”
Dalvin Cook appeared in 15 games last season for the New York Jets after spending his first six NFL seasons with the Minnesota Vikings. Cook rushed for 214 yards on 67 carries and zero touchdowns, along with averaging 3.2 yards per carry.
He also appeared with the Baltimore Ravens for the postseason because of all of the injuries at the position after being released by the New York Jets before the end of the regular season. Cook rushed for 23 yards on eight carries and one touchdown in one postseason game with Baltimore. He averaged 2.9 yards per carry.
