Houston right-hander Jonel Blanco (1-0, 0.00 ERA) is scheduled to make his first start since tossing a no-hitter in a 10-0 win over the Toronto Blue Jays on April 1. The 30-year-old had a 2-1 record and 4.50 ERA in 17 appearances (seven starts) last season. Blanco will square off against Rangers righty Dane Dunning (1-0, 4.26 ERA), who went 1207 with a 3.70 ERA in 35 games (26 starts) a year ago.

The Rangers improved to 6-2 and stayed in the American League West lead, pulling away late with a four-run eighth inning in Saturday’s Game 2. Texas also won early-season series against the Chicago Cubs and Tampa Bay Rays.
