Jets let RB Coach Taylor Embree Walk, Names for Replacement Emerge
The Jets are parting ways with running backs coach Taylor Embree after two years at the position for Gang Green. The team has already met with former running back and running backs coach Duce Staley and intends to meet with Titans running backs coach Tony Dews.
Jets have new coaching opening on offense — and a favorite emerges
Taylor Embree will not be returning as Jets running backs coach in 2024, reports Connor Hughs of SNY.
Embree has filled that role with the Jets since 2021. The move comes as New York will retain offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett and offensive line coach Keith Carter.
Josina Anderson of CBS Sports reports that Duce Staley visited the Jets facility last Thursday and had dinner with head coach Robert Saleh. Staley was previously assistant head coach/running backs coach for the Panthers, but he and Carolina parted ways in November.
Staley was a part of the Eagles coaching staff from 2011-20 in a variety of roles, including special teams quality control coach, running backs coach and assistant head coach. He had a 10-year NFL career as a running back, seven of which he spent in Philadelphia.
