While the injury is feared to be season-ending, the injured-reserve designation ended any chance that Davidson would play for the Titans this season. If he is released by Tennessee with an injury settlement and regains his health, Davidson would be eligible to sign with another team in 2024.

After Davidson resurrected his NFL career late in the 2023 campaign, the Titans were counting on him as part of their defensive-interior rotation with two-time Pro Bowler Jeffery Simmons, second-round draft pick T’Vondre Sweat and Sebastian Joseph-Day.

Davidson did not play in an NFL regular-season game in 2022. But in 2023, Davidson played in the Titans’ final five games – the first two as a practice-squad elevation before three starts as a member of the 53-man roster. He recorded 10 tackles, one sackand two tackles for loss while playing 163 defensive snaps.

Alabama’s Class 5A Lineman of the Year in 2015 for Greenville High School, Davidson was an All-SEC selection at Auburn before joining the Atlanta Falcons in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

In his first two seasons with the Falcons, Davidson played in 19 games, started one and missed 15 as injuries and COVID-19 kept him off the field. He totaled 29 tackles, with one sack, one tackle for loss andone interception returned for a touchdown.

In 2022, Davidson began the season on injured reserve after suffering a knee injury in training campbefore Atlanta released him on Oct. 25, 2022.
