Cardiff City noon transfer headlines as Celtic star currently undergoing medical and winger expected
This is your midday Bluebirds bulletin on transfer deadline day
Bluebirds hopeful of signing Turnbull
One deal Cardiff are certainly hoping to complete today is the signing of David Turnbull.
The Celtic midfielder, who travelled to south Wales yesterday, is in the final few months of his contract at Parkhead but negotiations continue over striking a deal. Cardiff are confident that can be done, though, with the player undergoing a medical at time of writing.
Erol Bulut wants to bolster the quality in midfield and the club hope Turnbull can provide that. He has the ability to score and if it’s one thing this Cardiff team needs, and has needed for years, it’s more goals.
With Aaron Ramsey coming back soon, and Rubin Colwill having looked somewhere near back to his best in recent months, that area of the pitch now looks particularly healthy, providing they get Turnbull done today.

Winger also expected
The Bluebirds are also understood to be working on a deal to bring a new winger to the club today.
Bulut has wanted to add to his forward options this month and has got Famara Diedhiou over the line already. It now seems the club are set to bolster in the wide areas, with sources suggesting there is a confidence that a deal for a wide player will get done.
We are set to hear from the Bluebirds boss later this afternoon, when we will hopefully get more information.
Cardiff close in on Horvath
Cardiff City are hoping to complete the permanent signing of Ethan Horvath from Nottingham Forest before tonight’s deadline, WalesOnline has learned.
We reported last week that the Bluebirds admired the American goalkeeper and had made their admiration known to Forest early in the window. That was always going to have ramifications for Alex Runarsson, who has been second choice to Jak Alnwick for much of the season.
However, we understand the deal will only be completed if Arsenal agree to cut Runarsson’s loan short and take him back to north London. While that looks highly likely, at time of writing that has not yet been sanctioned.
Ebou Adams’ first Rams interview: ‘I can’t stop smiling’
Midfielder Ebou Adams completed a loan move to Derby County last night. It seems a move that fits all parties, because he was a fair few rungs down the ladder at Cardiff.
But the Gambia international seems delighted to have secured a move to the Midlands for the remainder of the season, saying: “I feel so happy, I can’t stop smiling actually. I’m happy and excited to get going!
