“Carry more clout…” – Ipswich Town join Leeds United and Southampton in transfer pursuit of Burnley man: The verdict

FLW writers have shared their thoughts on Ipswich Town’s interest in Manuel Benson.

Ipswich Town are interested in signing Burnley winger Manuel Benson, with competition from Leeds United and other clubs in the Championship.

Joining Ipswich would be an excellent move for Benson, as the team is attack-minded and has a better chance of reaching the Premier League compared to Leeds.

It would be a statement of intent for Ipswich to beat bigger clubs like Leeds United and Southampton to sign Benson, but it may be difficult to convince him to choose Ipswich over those clubs.

It was reported by Football Insider earlier this week, that both Southampton and Leeds United are interested in signing Manuel Benson this month.

Hull City were also interested in the player, but it has since been reported that their interest has cooled. While journalist Sacha Tavolieri, has revealed that Leeds are pushing to complete a deal for Benson, with a new round of talks happening yesterday.

However, the Whites face fresh competition, as Ipswich are interested in a deal for the Burnley man, according to Give Me Sport.

The report also states that as well as Ipswich being interested in the player, Birmingham City are also keen on signing the 26-year-old. But it does go on to add that given Leeds and Ipswich are at the top end of the Championship, a move to them seems more likely than to Birmingham.

Manuel Benson is very much a wanted man this month, and it seems between now and the transfer deadline he will join a club in the Championship.

However, it remains to be seen who that next club is going to be, as teams like Southampton, Leeds, Ipswich, and Birmingham circle.
