Changes needed as Hull City face big test of play-off credentials at League One-bound Rotherham
The Tigers are in desperate need of three points after Saturday’s horror show
Hull City head coach Liam Rosenior will almost certainly make changes to his starting XI for Tuesday night’s Yorkshire derby at Rotherham United.
City’s two-game winning run came to a shuddering halt on Saturday when they were beaten 1-0 by Swansea City, with the manner of the victory for Luke Williams’ men far more comfortable than the scoreline suggests.
Going into the contest, Rosenior kept faith with the XI that beat Millwall 1-0 the week before with the only changes coming on the bench where there were returns for Adama Traore and Aaron Connolly, both of whom came on in the closing stages with City desperately chasing a way back into the game.

Rosenior’s side were ineffective in attack fashioning just three attempts on target in the 90-plus minutes, only marginally better than the victory over Millwall which saw Jaden Philogene score the only goal five minutes in. Since that strike, City have gone over 180 minutes without finding the net.
That stat comes as a huge surprise given his attacking quartet consisted of Anass Zaroury, Fabio Carvalho, Ozan Tufan and Philogene, but he will surely be tempted to freshen things up at the New York Stadium.
Billy Sharp made a difference when he came off the bench and almost levelled it up, only for his goalbound effort to be cleared off the line. The experienced frontman gave City a focal point in attack, and away from home at Rotherham, his prowess would be useful, and so, too, Aaron Connolly.
The Irishman is back fit and available after his spell on the sidelines, while Noah Ohio is pushing for his first start since arriving during the final week of the transfer window. Abdulkadir Omur was one ray of light for the Tigers with a positive cameo and will be pushing for his full debut.
