Crystal Palace ‘make proposal’ – Player is now ‘excited’ about joining Eagles
Crystal Palace have entered the race to sign Corinthians’ Wesley Gassova this summer, according to a report from Brazil.
The 19-year-old graduated from the Brazilian club’s youth system and made his way into their first team in 2022. He’s been a regular this year, managing five goals and four assists from 42 games.
Wesley has been repeatedly linked with a move to the Premier League and Crystal Palace are now added to the list of interested parties from England.
That’s according to UOL, who say the Eagles ‘make a proposal’ to sign the winger in this window.
The London club’s offer consists of €18m plus bonuses linked to the player’s performances.
It’s claimed Wesley is ‘excited’ by the bid made by Oliver Glasner’s side, but Corinthians have so far not responded to them. UOL make no mention of the fee needed to convince the South American club.
As well as Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest have shown interest in the youngster. Two days ago, Brazilian journalist Bruno Andrade reported the Reds offered €18m plus €3m bonuses, while Corinthians want €20m excluding bonuses.
West Ham were keen earlier this summer but at the time Wesley suddenly had the best form of his career and Corinthians got a little carried away with their asking price.
Crystal Palace will likely also walk away if the Brazilian club continue to be unreasonable.

Crystal Palace match Nottingham Forest bid of £19m for tricky player, Mourinho also keen
Nottingham Forest are now facing competition from another Premier League club to sign the highly-rated Brazilian winger, Wesley.
The Reds are close to landing Jota Silva to bolster their attacking options but more players for the final third are going to be sought.
Wesley has a host of clubs chasing him and Forest have done dealings with Corinthians before over Murillo and Carlos Miguel.
Landing the tricky winger doesn’t look like it will be an easy deal to do, with a number of clubs now ramping things up in an attempt to sign him.
Forest have already made a bid – according to reports – but now another Premier League club have entered the race to sign him.

Crystal Palace make bid for Forest-linked Wesley
According to Samba Foot, the Eagles are now in the frame to sign Wesley too and are aiming to beat Forest to his signature.
Forest were linked last month with a move for Ismaila Sarr and he ended up signing for Palace too.
Oliver Glasner does have a number of wingers but it would appear that he’s keen to add another one to his ranks before the season starts.
Their bid of £16 million plus £3 million in the way of add-ons matches the bid that Forest have made, with Corinthians now mulling over the offers.
A 19-year-old, Wesley has been with Corinthians for his entire career and this season he’s claimed nine goal contributions from 45 games.
European clubs are very much keen too, with Roma monitoring things and Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce making a bid.
He’s very much a work in progress but ultimately, he’s a signing with a very high ceiling and one with huge potential to improve.
Third time unlucky for Forest with Brazilian gem Wesley
In our view, this deal is just going to be too tricky to do from a Forest perspective.
Although the Reds want new wingers, Silva is set to be added to a dressing room that already includes Anthony Elanga and Callum Hudson-Odoi.
Wesley isn’t going to fancy coming to England not to play and he will have a number of clubs to choose from this summer.
Regular football might not come easily for him at Palace either but perhaps he will view them as a more established Premier League club.
If Forest truly want Wesley they may have to up the ante in terms of the transfer fee and it will be interesting to see if the Reds do push further.
Either way, we just think this deal looks like a bridge too far for Forest and the club might be forced to accept defeat with Corinthians on this occasion.
